Hi, I'm Bonnie.
I'm a COO in hospitality, a remote-first leader, and an adult ballet student based in Vancouver. I believe the best operations, like the best dancing, look effortless because of the work you never see.
Running the show, quietly.
I'm the Chief Operating Officer of a vacation rental company. My job is to make a large portfolio of homes, and the many guests who stay in them, feel looked after. That means systems, standards, and above all people: a large team who make it happen every day.
I do all of it fully remote, from Vancouver, several time zones away from most of my team. Leading that way has taught me that trust is built in small, repeated moments, not big speeches.
A lifelong student.
Most evenings you'll find me in an adult ballet class. Ballet is humbling in the best way. Every class starts with the same pliés, every correction is public, and nobody ever "finishes" learning it.
That's exactly why I love it, and why it keeps showing up in how I lead. The barre taught me that excellence is a habit, feedback is a gift, and grace is just discipline you can no longer see.
Principles from the studio and the boardroom.
Repeat the basics.
Pliés before pirouettes. The fundamentals, done well and often, carry everything else.
Take the correction.
Feedback is how a team, or a dancer, gets better. Ask for it, give it kindly, and use it.
Make it look easy.
Guests should only see the welcome, never the scramble. That takes preparation, not luck.
Keep a rhythm.
Rituals and routines protect energy, focus, and the people who depend on you.
A little sweetness, held with discipline.
